Local designer and Kingston University student gains experience at Wakefield-based design studio during October.
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Chloe Wybrant to the team for a month-long work placement in partnership with The Art House. Chloe is currently studying Graphic Design at Kingston University and as part of her course was looking to gain industry experience within the design sector.
Applying for work experience is a daunting task at the best of times but the small matter of a global pandemic is really throwing a spanner in the works for students and graduates who are currently trying to gain experience within the industry.
With this in mind we were keen to offer any help and support we could. After viewing Chloe’s exciting portfolio of work, we were thrilled to welcome her on board and give her valuable experience of working in a design studio environment.
To Chloe’s surprise, we threw her in at the deep end with a live project designing a gift card, leaflet and loyalty card for local retailers Books on the Lane and Walton Herbs – there really is no better way to learn!
Chloe is due to complete her final year overseas at The Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in 2021. We’d like to thank Chloe for her impeccable manners, willingness to learn and can-do attitude – qualities which will stand her in good stead as she embarks on her career in design.
Special thanks also to Sydney Thornbury and The Art House team for facilitating the work placement and ensuring we could accommodate Chloe in these challenging times.
