Approach
Wakefield city centre has been given a fresh injection of colour through a series of bold lamppost banners, commissioned by Wakefield BID and installed across the city’s key streets. Designed to be enjoyed year-round, the banners create a vibrant welcome for residents and visitors alike, adding energy and character to the public realm.
Developed to celebrate the everyday experiences that make the city distinctive – from eating, drinking and shopping to creativity, culture and community – the banners act as visual moments, encouraging people to pause, look up and engage with the city around them.
Our approach focused on creating a sense of play and movement through bold graphic compositions, layered typography and a lively colour palette. Each banner feels individual while working collectively to bring rhythm and cohesion to the streetscape, helping to shift perceptions of Wakefield as a place full of creativity and possibility.
