Rebranding a quirky gift shop in the heart of Leeds.
Approach
The Great Yorkshire Shop is an independent retailer based inside the Grade I listed Corn Exchange in Leeds city centre. The shop sells a wide selection of hand-picked goods from local independent makers, artists and designers along with other Yorkshire-themed products, such as homeware, food and drink, and greetings cards.
Appealing to locals and tourists alike, the new branding uses quirky local language and a minimal visual approach which complements the eclectic mix of products available. The contemporary Yorkshire rose icon can be used as a standalone emblem and features on the shop’s own branded products including t-shirts, biscuits and candles.
Blues form the backbone of the colour palette; these colours being synonymous with the flag of Yorkshire as well as the county’s wide open landscapes and coastal destinations.
