Approach

Long Division Festival ran in Wakefield from 2011–2023, growing from a DIY fanzine into an award-winning celebration of grassroots music and culture. This visual compendium marks its final chapter — a 224-page hardback book that captures the festival’s spirit through images, stories and objects.

Drawing on Long Division’s vast archive alongside contributions from artists, journalists and the Wakefield community, the book blends posters, photographs, setlists, merchandise, and personal reflections. The design balances raw DIY energy with a polished finish, creating a lasting testament to working-class creativity and the power of independent culture.
